So, after some more learning, there is a good reason not to use hard sharp things stuck in the ground. Specifically they can hurt you and or your kite and or others if they are not removed as soon as the kite is launched. Trying to get one of these screws out of the beach while flying my kite sounds like more of a challenge than just using a sandbag.

I'm going to guess that it refers to being extremely high, hence "flying".

Actually our national sport has always been Lacrosse.

I ranted about this on my blog once… Our national sport has been Lacrosse since 1859.

It was in 1967 when Hockey started to suggest it should be THE National sport. It wasn't until 1994, when the government decided to make Lacrosse the national SUMMER sport and Hockey the national WINTER sport.

If you mean "to go parachuting", that is to say the activity, hobby, then it's:
    "faire du parachutisme"

If you mean "to parachute", e.g "food supplies were parachuted" then it's the verb "parachuter": "des vivres ont été parachutés"

Tell him how you really feel. Nothing can be labeled as a "boys only sport" imo. If they can do it, so can we. Speak you're mind, and be heard. Try sitting him down and explain that this is something you really want to do, or at least try. Ask him why he doesn't want you to try. But be consistent! Don't give up easily, and that will show him you really want to do this!

Sports Model isn't even a technical term, there's no such thing, there are fitness models and they generally have above average muscular bodies and do work with athletic and fitness brands, Think the people on the Boflex(sp?) commercials that would be a fitness model. extremely large muscles especially on women arnt always welcomed with open arms into any other type of modeling job. I.e. runway commercial catalog etc.
