It's an optical illusion that relies on the figure – ground relationship.
Depending on what you initially perceive as the figure and what is the ground determines the direction of rotation. Believe it or not, it is possible to see the dancer as the ground the background as the figure. That is why looking at the bottom of the image allows the image to reverse.
Ahh, finally a use for all those years studying Art History.

Ivan, I disagree and do not see the Drunken' Sailor or anything in ice-skating as figure skating first. Figure skating is another sport and a competitor of ours. You own a piece of Xtreme Ice Skating since you are a Member of the board of Directors. I just wanted to get you thinking in this way. We must always approach Xtreme Ice Skating with business first, than ice-skating. That is how we will get the sport of Xtreme Ice Skating to take off. Competition must be kept in its' own corner. Period. :)

I read another post that said that it is REALLY expensive to go. It sounds like a great opportunity-but there HAS to be a catch SOMEWHERE!!! The website doesn't tell everything-I don't know!!! Anyone out there who can help???????

    I'll get the ball rolling…

    1) Over the top. Always. No exceptions.

    2) New Battlestar Galactica. And I've seen the old one, almost every episode. Great show, for its time, but it doesn't hold up very well.

    3) Not a sport. I define a sport as “an athletic competition between two teams or individuals with a clear winner and a clear loser.” Baseball – sport. Football – sport. Cheerleading – not a sport. Golf – (though it pains me…) not a sport.

Carrying his surfboard over the snow-covered sand never bothered him. Nor did the icy water off of Long Beach, even when it was so cold that it gave him intense headaches, like the kind you get from eating ice cream too fast.

    Yes
Wlll he offer me his jaws?
    Yes
Will he offer me his hunger?
    Yes
Again. Will he offer me his hunger?
    Yes
And will he starve without me?
    Yes
    And does he love me?
    Yes
    Yes
    On a hot summer night.
Would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
    Yes

Maybe I am out of my league on this question, But the physical objects that we see and touch here on earth is only a matter of sensory perception. What we determine is real or substantial is according to what we can actually feel or touch. "change events" as you call it, is all around us weather we relate to them or not. I think this world and its stars should be looked at with a good dose of both.
