Joining a new sport in your sophomore year of high school?

I need help with like tips or advice about joining a where the people in it have played since like
middle . I wanted to join lacrosse this , we played it in gym for a bit & i enjoyed it. So since I don’t really have a this I was thinking lacrosse. But the girls in that seem like they have played for such a long time and I feel like left out because none of my friends are planning to join either.

so any advice or tips? anything would be helpful!

man i wish we had lacrosse in our gym, first of all, it’s gonna be hard. i’m a guy and had trouble the first weeks getting the hang of things, but it’s even harder for a girl to learn since the difference in the head is so drastic, but it’s real fun to learn and play even when you suck. if your really going to do it, have an attitude where i’m gonna learn as fast as possible, as efficiently as possible, give 110% when to start, trust me it’ll be hard but it’ll pay off. i’m gonna be a sophomore this year and i started in eighth grade with that attitude and i made the varsity team as a freshman, i don’t know about you and your school maybe different but if you have an attitude to be the best you’ll excel, fast.

I would suggest running first because you need a lot of endurance to play. Also you could ask some of the players to show you some things about the game. If they do show you some basic things I would continue to practice at them and get better. I would definitely practice catching and throwing with both hands because that is another important skill.Play wall ball.Wall ball is just throwing the ball against a wall and practicing catching and throwing. It will help a lot. If any colleges around you offer lacrosse clinics, I would go to them because they will help you. There were a lot of people at my school who joined lacrosse their sophomore year and they were able to do fine. Good luck!

Interesting topic! I think it should be an Olyimpic sport. They have events like horse jumping that are considered a rich mans sport… Tennis was once considered a rich mans sport, because you have to join a country club… I think that golf would be great, as there is more national attention to the sport than ever in the asian countries. check out our blog

I agree. Could archery not just as easily be classified as a “meditative sport” as a “hunting sport”? Perhaps it shouldn't be the sport itself that drives our perception of it, but the participants' individual motives. It is hard for me to believe that even physically dominant sports like football are conceived of the same way – by say Peyton Manning and Lawrence Taylor.

If I was an 18 year old sophomore, I would put up about 40.

a hammer is a tool used to nail things together. high is the height of something or an experience from doing crazy good drugs. therefore, hammer high would be nailing a house together blazed out of your mind, or a way to describe a drunk construction worker
