I LOVE extreme sports like bmx, mx, skateboard ect. If I could do what these pro's do I would and I understand that the pro's love it. However, I find that it is unfair of us (yes us, don't say you don't) to ask the pro's to risk there arms, legs and even their lives just so the crowds will still cheer their name, be respected and earn their money to live. Who gave us the right to basically tell pro's 'Risk everything or you'll lose everything.' Don't get me wrong I'm not criticizing anyone. :)

and if you're still undecided, consider this: when you look back on your wedding day – which you will do for the rest of your life – what do you want to stand out in your mind? the things you didn't do, or the things you did?

sweet little bird – wishing you the happiest of wedding days, and the most succesful of marriages…

  10. Hi there. Here's my “poetic version” of what a hockey mom is. Liz

    The Hockey Mom

    Behold the hardy Hockey Mom
    Up before daylight
    Movements quick, determined
    Coffee mug held tight.

    Lacing lessons, kneeling
    Hockey bags that smell
    Flooding rinks at bedtime
    Hockey tales to tell.

    Most Hockey Moms play Center
    Menus, driving, cheers.
    Onboard Homework Hotline
    Pre – game jitters, fears.

    Post–game conversations
    Hot chocolate, steaming mugs
    Jerseys in the laundry
    Post-game hockey hugs.

So watch out for the Hockey Mom
    Distinctive, active, gritty
    Spirit hockey center
    One per family – pity!

Interesting concept, but would (e.g.) Francis S. Collins be let in on the secret? There are plenty of others, but Collins certainly has faith AND explores the universe.
Looked at the other way, in my experience there are plenty of sheep-like atheists – if blindly following someone else's lead disqualifies you from knowing the 'secret' what would God do with them?

There may be nothing wrong with this article except the lack of stats for comparison. If cancer is responsible for more than 25% of deaths in other countries, then kimchi might be helping (or, in comparing Canadian and American eating habits with Korean, maybe the reduced amount of red meat or higher amount of fish protein…). Yeah, there is a lot missing from the article.

Sick, twisted barbarians, I would have more respect for these people if they were more like M Gandhi than this bloodthirsty bunch that they are. Anyone who uses mentally handicapped people in such a way it makes me feel so angry. The poor women who had such an awful life and they they are used in such a way by this sick twisted barbarians.

It used to be "father figure" before the days of political correctness. Today, I suppose "role model" is a pale imitation.

America was a land of plenty until 1860 in that it had very productive agriculture and increasing manufacturing.
It would be hard to describe it as such during 1861 through 1865, because that was the period of the American Civil War, when the country was in turmoil and suffered a great deal of destruction and death.
